Cellist Ira Givolis a devoted chamber musician. He plays both modern and baroque cello, as well as the Viola Da Gamba. As a founding member of the Tel Aviv Trio he has won many international awards. He has played in some of the world’s most spectacular concert halls, including the Philharmonie in Berlin, the Auditorium du Louvre in Paris and the Kennedy Center in Washington. Ira is a founding member of the baroque ensemble “Trivalazzia”, and from 2009 a regular member of the baroque ensemble “Il Gardelino”, Belgium. Since 2013 he is principal cellist of the “Geneva Camera” orchestra. Ira is a graduate of the Cologne Musikhochschule and a former student of Hillel Zori, Frans Helmerson, Lawrence Lesser and Rainer Zipperling . He is playing on a Collin Mezin cello, lent to him by the America-Israel cultural foundation.
