Ms. Wang A-Mao was born into a musical family in Beijing, China. She studied composition under Professor Jianping Tang at the Central Conservatory of Music, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Composition. Ms. Wang's orchestral works have been read by the American Composer Orchestra and the Kansas City Symphony in 2014 and 2012 respectively. She received Susan and Ford Schumann Scholarship to attend Aspen Music Festival and School in 2014. In 2013, she was awarded the Missouri Music Teachers Association Composition Commission. She was also selected as a winner of the Young Composer Project, which was held by the Beijing Modern Music Festival. Her chamber works were premiered by Third Angle ensemble in 2012 and 2014.

Ms. Wang has performed her own compositions at New York City's Le Poisson Rouge, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, the Edgar Snow Memorial Fund Symposium and the National Association of Schools of Music concert series.

Currently, Ms. Wang A-Mao is a third-year D.M.A. composition student at the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance, studying composition with Professors Chen Yi, Zhou Long, James Mobberley, and Paul Rudy.
